Confirm who can release it
Agree payment and collection with the seller or person holding the item. Check it is ready, who will hand it over and their available hours.
Collection address: use the actual loading entrance. A shop’s showroom or billing address may be different.
Measure it as it will travel
Check the assembled or packed dimensions against doors, stair turns and lifts at both ends. Select dismantling at collection or assembly at delivery on the item step where those options are offered.
Preparation: item-service prices are per item. If an option is unavailable, arrange that work separately.
Plan the carrying help
Enter the floor or lift for each address. Choose 1 person if you can provide suitable help at both ends, or compare 2 people for a driver and helper.
Driver notes: add the entrance and carrying route. Check whether the recipient needs to arrange a building or lift slot.

Collecting or delivering in Nottingham city centre?
Some central streets restrict vehicle access as well as waiting, loading and unloading. Start with the actual entrance; being able to park nearby does not establish permission to drive to it.
