London house + flat moves
A bedroom count alone cannot describe the load. Walk through the home and add the furniture and packed boxes from each room to your quote.
Count beds, mattresses, wardrobes, sofas, tables and other furniture separately. Include packed books, clothes and cupboard contents as boxes or bags, using the appropriate inventory items.
Measure large pieces as they will travel. Check whether a bed or wardrobe needs dismantling to pass a stair turn or fit inside the lift.
Include the appliances and freestanding furniture that are moving, with packed kitchen contents. Finish with the loft, shed, garage, balcony or storage space if you use one.
If belongings are at another address, add that address as an extra stop in the journey step and include the items in the load.
Select dismantling at collection or assembly at delivery on the item step where offered. These services are priced per item; arrange preparation separately when the required option is unavailable.
Select the floor or lift at each address. Choose 1 person only if you can provide suitable lifting help at both ends; compare 2 people for a driver and helper when you cannot. Check bulky items against doors, stair turns and lift openings before choosing the access options.
Before choosing the moving date
Being ready to leave and being able to enter the next home are separate parts of the plan. Check them before committing to the day.
Plan packing and any selected item preparation. Check building loading hours and any lift reservation needed for collection.
Confirm who will hold the keys and when entry is available. If this depends on completion or a handover that is still uncertain, resolve how access will work before relying on a delivery time.
Select and narrow an available collection window online. Loading and travel happen afterwards. Confirm an essential, inflexible delivery appointment before paying; Driver notes alone do not secure it.
Two addresses, two loading plans
A move between London boroughs can need different arrangements at each end. Start with the loading point and building entrance, not one rule for the whole city.
Most London roads are managed by boroughs. Find the council for each postcode and check its rules for the particular bay, any reservation and the moving date. Find the council by postcode (opens in a new tab)

Confirm the usable entrance, barrier and vehicle height limits with the building. Book a loading or lift slot if required and check the carrying route from there to the home. A private booking does not reserve space on the public street.
